about the project
The Future That Remembers the Past
The new Music Centre in Grzegórzki grows from history - built on the site of a former fortress - and transforms it. A location once marked by military heritage gains a new identity as a space where nature, architecture, and sound converge. The outline of the 19th-century fort remains visible - in hedges, pathways, an amphitheatre, and sculpted greenery - but is reinterpreted with lightness and openness, respecting the existing trees and local ecosystem.
The Park as a Stage
The revitalized park becomes an inclusive space - for residents, wanderers, and music lovers. Clear paths, wild orchards, a beekeeping garden, groves, and meadows create a shared sensory landscape. The amphitheatre, café, exhibition pavilion, and educational areas bring the site to life year-round. Nature flows into the architecture - and the building, in turn, extends into nature.
Architecture as an Instrument of Music
The building is more than a structure - it is an instrument that plays silence and sound. Its form rises from the landscape, with a roof that continues the park’s topography. The foyer becomes a gateway to greenery. Here, silence becomes the canvas for sound, and music tells a story of place, time, and emotion.
Three Halls - Three Voices
The Philharmonic Hall - the “first violin” and centerpiece for classical music, seating 1,400 guests. A classic shoe-box layout with refined elegance - old gold contrasted with ebony black.
The City Concert Hall - the “soloist,” flexible and expressive, designed for Capella Cracoviensis and Sinfonietta Cracovia. Pleated, shimmering geometry and mobile acoustic elements.
The Recital Hall - the “dreamer,” intimate and focused, ideal for rehearsals and small performances. Simple form, unified acoustics, and a contemplative atmosphere.

When I pronounce the word Future,
the first syllable already belongs to the past.
When I pronounce the word Silence,
I destroy it.
When I pronounce the word Nothing,
I make something no nonbeing can hold.
