The swimming pool in Białołęka is not only a sports facility, but above all an open, social space, a “neighborhood arcade” combining recreational, educational, and community functions. The wooden structure of the building is surrounded by a publicly accessible colonnade, which serves as a sheltered zone for meetings, workshops, and local events, blending with a park full of meadows, trees, and a natural watercourse.

The foyer of the swimming pool is shaped as a visual axis running through the building, opening onto greenery and the park while also allowing views of the pool hall. The interiors are kept in a warm, natural aesthetic of wood and green tones, creating a welcoming microclimate with a feeling of closeness to nature.

The spatial layout is simple nd clear, preserving as much green area as possible and maintaining visual openness to the north. The whole is complemented by a prefabricated timber structure with a low carbon footprint, enabling rapid assembly and potential phased construction. The result is a design for a modern, inclusive meeting place where architecture harmoniously intertwines with nature and the local community.
