concert hall

concert hall

about the project

The National Concert Hall in Vilnius was designed as a light, shimmering structure – a "cloud" that blends harmoniously into the city skyline and Tautos Namai Park, creating a dialogue with the historical layout by preserving the axial arrangement and consonance of forms.

Three winding park paths connect the area with the entrances to the building, marking out natural and flexible walking routes and access to recreational spaces.

The concert foyer and public spaces have been designed as a fluid, multi-level structure, allowing for the free movement of spectators and a collision-free connection to the squares and alleys. The main "vineyard" concert hall provides excellent acoustics thanks to the irregular, terraced form of the balconies and the thoughtful geometry of the interior, while the smaller chamber halls, organ hall and technical facilities form a "box in box" layout, guaranteeing functional independence and flexibility of use.

The light marble façade and rhythmic vertical details emphasise the changing form of the structure, introducing a coherent urban rhythm and a play of light and shadow. Exhibition and communication spaces, footbridges and terraces extend over all levels of the building, enriching the user experience and enabling a variety of usage scenarios.

The whole functions as an "urban instrument", combining concert, educational and public spaces in harmony with the history and landscape of the city, creating both a visual and functional reference point in its surroundings.
