PLGBC: two Awards for the Academy of Music building!

The Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz has won First Prize in the Sustainable Public Building category at the PLGBC Green Building Awards, organised by the Polish Green Building Council (PLGBC). The project also received a Special Award, presented for the first time!

The jury recognised the project’s exceptional combination of high-quality architecture, public function and ambitious environmental solutions.

The design has transformed the degraded site of a former brickworks into a modern campus for culture and education, reclaiming a valuable urban area and enhancing local biodiversity.

The building achieves performance levels close to the passive building standard and incorporates ground-source heat pumps, a photovoltaic system with energy storage, and advanced energy management systems.

At the same time, carefully designed acoustic solutions ensure outstanding performance and user comfort, while the campus’s openness makes it an integral part of the city’s everyday life.

Our thanks go to the entire design team, the Client and everyone involved in bringing this exceptional place to life.
