first anniversary of the 163rd high school
3 April 2025
A year has passed since the opening of CLXIII High School in the Wesoła district – a building we had the pleasure of designing. Today, visiting the school as guests, we see how the space we created is brimming with life. Filled with young people, the building has become a place of learning and freedom – where the boundaries between classroom and recreation blur, inspiring an unconventional approach to education.
Warm, natural materials such as pine plywood and wood wool give the interiors a welcoming character while also ensuring good acoustics. Glazed classroom entrances open the space to new ways of working and collaborating.
At the heart of the building lies the school auditorium – raw in its form, with concrete walls imprinted with OSB board textures on the corridor-facing side. Inside the hall, the concrete structure remains hidden, giving way to wood and OSB cladding. The room’s strong character has made it a favorite meeting place and a recognizable symbol of the school. It was here that students and teachers celebrated the anniversary today, filling the space with laughter, conversation, and energy – making use of every corner for shared fun and celebration.
Looking at this place today, we feel proud – of a project that didn’t remain just on paper but became a vibrant, living organism!
